About the Workshop

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn leading practices for recruiting and supporting new board members that reflect the communities their nonprofits serve. We will discuss creating a intentional board culture, healthy communication, and examine where power lies in decision making. Participants will joined by other board members and nonprofit leaders to have honest conversations about accountability and reflect on their own board dynamics.

Intended Audience:

Current board members, nonprofit executives and staff, and anyone wanting to learn more about nonprofit board service.

Outcomes

  • Identify structural patterns in board culture that silence or sideline voices

  • Examine how power, decision sequencing, and informal norms affect retention and engagement

  • Commit to a 90-day plan for measurable board practices that increase voice, clarity, and accountability

Participants will receive a digital badge of completion to display on LinkedIn, highlighting their commitment to continuous learning and effective leadership.
