About the Workshop
In this workshop, CEN will guide you through what it takes to an effective board leader by providing a refresher on board service responsibilities in general and a more in-depth look at the chairperson role in particular. Together we will explore strategies to build and strengthen the critical relationship between the board chair and the CEO and will share leading practices of board governance and leadership. Participants will also leave with tools to ensure your board meetings are efficient and the discussions are generative.
Intended Audience:
Executive directors, board members, and anyone interested in learning more about nonprofit board service.
Outcomes
Identify the differences between nonprofit boards and Board Chair roles and responsibilities
Recognize the characteristics of a healthy CEO-Chair relationship
Implement tools and strategies for increased board engagement
