Melanese Coakley-Mckenzie

Melanese Coakley is a results-oriented nonprofit leader with deep expertise in fundraising management, donor engagement, and executive administration. She currently serves as Executive Assistant within the Executive Office of the Bahamas National Trust, where she supports strategic fundraising initiatives, major donor relations, corporate partnerships, grants, and stewardship programs in alignment with organizational and board priorities.

With more than a decade of progressive experience across conservation, faith-based, and humanitarian organizations, Melanese has demonstrated success in developing and executing data-driven fundraising strategies, managing donor portfolios, and strengthening institutional giving programs. Her work spans annual giving, planned giving, sponsorships, and international donor engagement, supported by strong CRM and reporting systems.

Melanese brings significant international and cross-cultural experience from her tenure with The Salvation Army Bahamas & Turks and Caicos Division, where she played a key role in disaster response fundraising, volunteer coordination, and community outreach initiatives, including large-scale emergency and feeding programs. In addition to her development leadership, she has extensive experience in executive support, board governance, and operational management, ensuring effective communication, compliance, and organizational efficiency. Melanese is currently pursuing an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability, further strengthening her commitment to building resilient, mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
