About the Organization (artinaction.org): The mission of Art in Action is empowering children through arts education. Art in Action ignites students’ thinking and creativity by providing engaging visual arts programs through which they learn art history, appreciation, and skills. Our vision is that art is an integral part of every student’s education, empowering the next generation to express unique ideas, expand cultural understanding, and develop the creative confidence to address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
About Mary: As Executive Director at Art in Action, Mary brings with her more than 20 years of professional experience in operations management and leadership development for nonprofit organizations, including The Tech Museum of Innovation and the San Carlos School District. Mary specializes in creating programs focused on informal learning in out- of-school educational environments. She believes that experiential, hands-on learning is critical for whole child development. A visionary leader, she uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage her team members and volunteers to accomplish ambitious goals. Mary cherishes her time with her husband Greg and their two sons. In her free time, Mary enjoys cooking, but mostly eating, and dancing to music “like there’s nobody’s watching.” |

About Dawn: Dawn grew up in and around England, moving to Virginia for university and staying in the USA for pleasure and work. She has been a nonprofit executive and fundraiser for 16 years, the majority of which have been in support of California public libraries. Dawn’s previous nonprofit experience includes work on homelessness, environment, women’s health, and education. Dawn’s first career was in academia and she sometimes daydreams of being a specialist again. She’s lived in San Jose since January 2018 and currently shares her home with two cats, a dog, and a stepchild. |

About Mahogany: Mahogany is thrilled to be the Executive Director of Rebuilding Together San Francisco! With over 9 years of strategic leadership in the NonProfit Sector, Mahogany is passionate about Bay Area residents accessing high quality services to transform lives. Mahogany obtained her Master’s in Public Administration from CSU, East Bay and Non Profit Certification from Golden Gate University. Most recently, Mahogany was a 2019 recipient of CSU, East Bay 40 Under 40 Alumni Award for service and dedication to the social sector. Her hope is to influence change and participate in collaborative solutions in the San Francisco Community to ensure residents reach their highest potential. |

About the Organization (bawsi.org): BAWSI mobilizes the women’s sports community to engage, inspire and empower the children who need us most. Through two award- winning programs, BAWSI harnesses the power of sports and physical activity to build leadership and holistic health for underserved girls and children with disabilities.
About Dana: Dr. Dana Weintraub is CEO of Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI) and Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of General Pediatrics at Stanford University. Dr. Weintraub’s research has included community-based evaluations of team sports to improve the health of underserved children, and impact of medical-legal partnership. She co-founded and directed the Peninsula Family Advocacy Program, a medical-legal partnership between Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County and Stanford Children’s Health. She currently serves on the Boards of both the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula and the US Soccer Foundation, as well as the National Advisory Board for Positive Coaching Alliance. Dr. Weintraub received an A.B. in History from Dartmouth College and her M.D. from University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her Internship, Residency and Chief Residency in Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and a Post-doctoral Fellowship in General Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine. |

About the Organization (mvpsf.org ): The Mountain View Public Safety Foundation (MVPSF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) formed by local community members and business leaders to support public safety, PAL (Police Activities League) and various community outreach programs. Our mission is to support public safety and make our communities better, safer places in which to work and live. We accomplish this by building partnerships across community and government organizations.
About Joy: Joy Garza started her career in Mountain View in 1998 as a Community Service Officer and went on to be a Public Safety Officer in Sunnyvale. She owned and operated a business in Gilroy for several years, was a health instructor for 19 years and also a Police Academy Instructor in physical fitness. Joy has 11 years of marketing experience and 10 years of experience in public safety training and coordinating. She’s worked closely with local, state and federal agencies in the Bay Area, and developed training and delivered public safety training programs. Joy earned an AA in Criminal Justice and a BS in Public Safety and Emergency Management. She has an adult daughter and is newly married to Eddie. Joy and Eddie reside in Gilroy and recently welcomed a new baby in 2019. |

About Shawn: Shawn Gerth has over twenty years experience working in education in East San Jose. She has been a part of opening over five schools, and has worked with children in middle and high school before transitioning to early childhood education where she now serves as Executive Director for Educare California at Silicon Valley (ECSV). A complex blend of partnerships, ECSV incorporates everything science says young children need to flourish. Caring educators engaged in leading-edge practice, supports for families to thrive, and deep connection to our community are all a part of the way we’re showing what high-quality, accessible early learning looks like in a low-income community. When Shawn isn't working she can be found driving her daughter to dance classes, walking the dog, or working in her art journal. |

About the Organization (latinascontracancer.org): Latinas Contra Cancer exists to create equitable and just access to health and the healthcare system for the Latino community around issues of cancer and cancer prevention.
About Darcie: Darcie Green is the Executive Director of LCC where she leads efforts to build the capacity of Latino communities to advocate effectively for themselves in health care settings and to access the care they need, guiding LCC’s commitment to eliminating the disparities facing the Latino community around issues of cancer and cancer prevention. She is a lifelong resident of East San Jose and mom to her four year old son, Hathorne. Darcie is a bridge builder, an organizer, and deeply passionate about health and healthcare. Over the course of her career, she has gained experience in community-lead, data-driven, and sustainable health funding strategies. She has extensive knowledge of health policy as well as years of experience in hospital and health insurance systems. She brings with her 20 years of activism and public policy experience. Darcie spent eight years as the South Bay Manager of Community and Government Relations at Kaiser Permanente. There she led local efforts on health policy and community engagement, often bringing together unlikely allies and resources in order to support improved health outcomes for uninsured or underinsured populations. Darcie is a nationally certified patient advocate, certified by The Patient Advocate Certification Board and is a California Breast Cancer Research Program Fellow. |

About Dawn: Dawn has been privileged to be a part of Cancer CAREpoint for the last four years, serving as the Executive Director since March 2020, and previously serving as the Deputy Director and the Director of Development and Marketing. Dawn also served as the Sr. Director, Development and Marketing at Hope Services, and was a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Board of Rebuilding Together, Silicon Valley. Prior to moving to the non-profit sector, she spent 25 years in high tech, serving in senior executive positions for a variety of public and private companies. Dawn has a B.A. in Economics and M.S. in Industrial and Operations Engineering, both from University of Michigan. |

She’s a community activist, advocating and making connections for many in East Palo Alto. Thandiwe enjoys putting smiles on faces, spending quality time with family, cooking, baking, reading, Zydeco dancing, and traveling. |

About Leigh: Leigh is the founder and executive director of Cultivating Literacy. She has been a teacher for 6 years, teaching early readers and has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and an M.Ed in Education with an emphasis in technology. She completed a Reading and Literacy Credential through USC in June 2019. Early learners and literacy are dear to her heart. Her founding principle is that every learner is different and that to effectively meet their needs we must first strive to understand them. |

About the Organization (man2man-uya.org): Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate is a multifaceted intervention, recovery, educational and support system for disadvantaged and marginalized youth and men of color in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a focus on Fatherhood, the program provides an array of life skills that enhance mental, physical, spiritual, and financial development. The summation of these goals provides our clients with the ability to position/reposition themselves as leaders of their families and communities.
About Stewart: A native of Oakland, CA, Stewart grew up in a community that was plagued with a number of challenging institutional socio-economic ills. Nevertheless, Stewart escaped the lures of the streets and became a Sergeant with the United States Marine Corp, before becoming the Founder and CEO of Perrilliat Enterprises, a general contracting and engineering firm based in Northern California. Stewart began his ministry call as a street evangelist in 1995, and since that time he has been used by the Lord to win countless souls into the Kingdom of God. He attributes his success as a street evangelist to his ability to present the gospel in a manner that meets people at the place of their need. His call has become the central focus of his life and ministry. Though Stewart is a gifted entrepreneur, he is first and foremost a service-driven person who is passionate about seeing people live their best life now through having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Stewart’s teaching gift empowers people to apply Biblical principles to improve and enhance their lives. His approach is encouraging, practical, and inspirational, and he is known for motivating others to reach for their highest potential. |
