Tarryl Jackson

Associate Director of Development & Marketing
Tarryl joined the CEN team in July 2021, previously working at Second Harvest of Silicon Valley for 5-plus years. She spent the majority of her tenure as the food bank’s Foundation Philanthropy Officer, where she raised millions of dollars in foundational gifts and wrote compelling fundraising materials for the organization. She was also a founding member on the newly formed Harvesting Equity Committee at Second Harvest, which exists to keep IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, Liberation) principles at the center of the organization’s work.

Prior to her career in philanthropy in California, the Michigan native was a newspaper reporter for the MLive Media Group for its Jackson, Michigan bureau for eight years. She produced news stories on local businesses, nonprofits, and school districts, and was awarded first place for best sustained news coverage by the Michigan Associated Press in 2015. She received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Central Michigan University. In her free time, Tarryl enjoys wine tasting, watching horror movies, and spending time on the Central Coast.
