Strategic Planning 101

 

 

In response to COVID-19, CEN has moved all of our programs online, offering virtual training opportunities that merge fundamental best practices with crisis management resources and opportunities for peer-to-peer connections and support. Additionally, we're offering special discounts and payment plans to make these offerings increasingly accessible during this challenging time (details below).

 

 

Workshop Description

Strategic planning has become increasingly important as many of our organizations are being faced with new challenges and/or being forced to shift business models because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it is time for your organization to develop a new plan or you're looking for a guide to adjust your current plan, this workshop will leave you with the tools and resources you need to get the process going. We will review the three basic steps to effective strategic planning and will explore the various ways that organizations can utilize the process to increase impact and meet goals. Additionally, we will take a look at how organizations with a limited budget can either tackle this daunting process on their own or assess what to contract for in order to make those dollars go father. Participants will learn how strategic plans can be adapted to meet the needs of your organization and/or department, as well as how to make strategic thinking an integral part of the way your organization does business. 

Intended Audience: Nonprofit staff & board members that are going to be involved in the strategic planning process or want to explore options

Outcomes:

  • Recognize the difference between a strategic plan and other planning processes
  • Identify the situations in which a strategic plan is most useful
  • Understand the three phases in the strategic planning process
  • Develop and implement strategies that will help you achieve long-term goals

CEN Events Cancellation Policy: Unfortunately, CEN is no longer able to accommodate cancellations within 72 hours of any event.  A registered attendee who has been billed or invoiced but is a “No Show” on the day of the event will still be billed for the event.  There are no exceptions to this policy, but substitutions are permitted at any time as long as the attendee is from the same organization.  Approved refunds – requested before the 72 hour cutoff – will be issued through the original form of payment.  Thank you!
