Workshop Description

It’s time to stop looking in the rear view mirror and begin to look forward! Strategic Planning should not be a one-time board retreat task that then sits on a shelf between revisions. Instead, we need to develop the ability to continuously think and act strategically. In this session, we will explore various approaches to strategic planning and will take a look at how organizations with a limited budget can either tackle this daunting process on their own, or assess what to contract for in order to make those dollars go father. Participants will learn how strategic plans can be adapted to meet the needs of small and mid-size organizations, as well as how to make strategic thinking an integral part of the way your organization does business. 

Intended Audience: Nonprofit staff & board members that are doing a strategic plan with little past experience or outside support.

Outcomes:

  • Improve the strategic thinking skills of your board and have more generative discussions?
  • Learn about different approaches to strategic planning and how to choose the right fit and structure?
  • Understand what strategic planning is, the basic components, and how to adapt plans to benefit your organization?
  • Leave with a basic outline to start the strategic planning process

CEN Events Cancellation Policy: Unfortunately, CEN is no longer able to accommodate cancellations within 72 hours of any event.  A registered attendee who has been billed or invoiced but is a “No Show” on the day of the event will still be billed for the event.  There are no exceptions to this policy, but substitutions are permitted at any time as long as the attendee is from the same organization.  Approved refunds – requested before the 72 hour cutoff – will be issued through the original form of payment.  Thank you!
