Workshop Description

For many of us, just thinking about fundraising can be daunting. Sound familiar? Then join us for this workshop, and learn how you can take the fear out of nonprofit fundraising! Participants will explore the basic fundraising process, gain a framework for building a comprehensive fundraising plan, and will learn how to develop a case for support and then strategies to communicate it effectively to donors. We will also touch on the Board's role in fundraising and how best to support these efforts. This beginner level session will leave you with the templates and resources you need to start fundraising more strategically.

Intended Audience: Nonprofit staff, executive directors, and board members that are new to fundraising and/or seeking a better understanding of the process.


  • Gain an understanding of the nonprofit fundraising process
  • Explore common fundraising activities and how to assess ROI for each
  • Leave with a roadmap to identify support materials needed and develop a fundraising plan for your organization
  • Take away tools to help get your entire board to become more comfortable with - and involved in! - fundraising efforts

CEN Events Cancellation Policy: Unfortunately, CEN is no longer able to accommodate cancellations within 72 hours of any event.  A registered attendee who has been billed or invoiced but is a “No Show” on the day of the event will still be billed for the event.  There are no exceptions to this policy, but substitutions are permitted at any time as long as the attendee is from the same organization.  Approved refunds – requested before the 72 hour cutoff – will be issued through the original form of payment.  Thank you!
