Most nonprofit board members never receive an orientation to their basic roles and responsibilities. As a result, you have amazing volunteers who want to help but don’t know how and staff that doesn’t understand why their board doesn’t do more. In this workshop we will go over the 10 basic responsibilities of board members and how to maximize their support of your mission.

Intended Audience: Board members and EDs, anyone wanting to learn more about board service


  • Gain a clearer understanding of roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards and board service
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of individual Board members
  • Learn how to  move your board beyond basic oversight to governance as leadership
