Getting the Most out of your Board

What it takes to effectively “manage up”…

Discounts available for Santa Clara County nonprofits. (Details Below)

According to BoardSource, “the partnership between the board and the executive leader is critically important to the success of an organization.”  Building – and managing – this partnership is easier said than done! It often falls on the shoulders of an organization’s executive director. In this workshop, we will look at ways you can effectively “manage up” to build stronger relationships and move your board toward excellence. Participants will leave with a strong understanding of board management best practices and a basic plan to begin implementation.

Intended Audience: Nonprofit Executive Directors and emerging leaders

  • Improve your recruiting and on-boarding process to set the expectation for a high performing board
  • Create engagement plans and check-in’s to make sure performance is on track
  • Look at how to implement best practices that will help each board member reach their full potential
